Decided to build a custom set of lights while waiting for the TRX to arrive. Started with a gently used set of Ram Bi-LED projector headlights from eBay.

So far just going in and deleting any non-functional chrome to better match the TRX exterior color theme. While I am at it color-keying some accent pieces to match the Anvil paint for a more customized appearance.

Have plenty of time between now and February so going to play with a few more ideas with this setup before reassembling.

Next installing the RGBW+A ColorSHIFT DRL Kit from ORACLE Lighting. https://www.oraclelights.com/products/2019-2021-ram-1500-projector

Awesome progress! I was going to do the same and get an extra set of headlights for doing a RGB install. I seen on the FB group a couple companies talking about making a kit once their TRX shows up in January.

One company already has a RGBW+A kit fully developed :)(y)

The corner light on the headlights is kind of a focal point on the headlight when you are walking up to the truck so playing around with maybe adding a decal here. Here is a mock-up of what I am thinking...

Thoughts on if this is too much? Looks better plain?

I am not in love with the window for the parking light in the corner but I didn't want to disable the factory parking lights so I masked this off. I may go back and paint over it and relocate the parking light LED.

If it were me I would make it more subtle like the "RAM" printed on the side of the headlight next to it and go with a similar silver on grey text, but its a good idea and location to set it apart from other ordinary 1500s

Will post some updates as I go.
VERY interesting!

I'd put SRT on there with a smoked lens

Going to ebay me some housings real soon to have them ready for mine

Those look awesome!

Will the DRLs stay white until you activate the Oracle lighting switch? And, how to you wire the LEDs to the controller?

So.....something interesting I noticed today in the parts system.

In 2020, the Ram Limited Black Edition introduced the premium headlights (sales code LM6) in black trim (sales code MFA). These headlights come with a MSRP of $1035 each (at the time of this post). I looked up a 2021 Ram Limited, same headlight part numbers. Model in 2020, model year out 2022.

The TRX shows a different part number for the headlights. Still shows the same sales codes LM6/MFA, but model in is 2021, model year out is 2022. Price is $1530 each.

My overanalyzing mind makes me wonder what is different. Digging into the grill removal overview - it looks like the headlights no longer have the "bracket kit", which the front fascia normally snaps into - and rests against. Again, overthinking, but I can't seem to locate the headlight service parts page for the TRX (just shows a couple bolts, not all the "extras" like other models).

Anyway, a few pics.....

I thought i remember an engineer on some video saying they were a headlight part unique to the TRX although similar to others they done in the past.

I remember watching a video, where they specifically stated ram trx headlights are "smaller or shorter" than the regular ram 1500. I'm gonna dig through my youtube..
