Curious on BWoody Positives and Negatives. I understand the whole cold air vs hot air, but I'm also up in Northern Michigan. Thoughts?

their standard one
I would get their upgraded one(green).
The standard is way small. I'm about to tune my truck and my tuner said the stock bwoody filter had been holding back 15Hp on some of the builds that had that CAI.
They found out when they pulled the filter off and instantly gained the expected Hp.
My tuner also got into a fight with Bwoody about this. Bwoody denied it would hold but the upgraded filters did not hold back gains from the tune which confirms the suspicion.

I would also get the Dry charger bag that goes over the filter. Water goes over it because the holes are way small and would work as a secondary barrier for water ever getting inside.

I've driven through heavy rain and checked to always find mine dry.
This is more if you ever offroad

Good question. I don't think those(blue) standard ones are oiled.
The Green ones aren't oiled either but I could be wrong.
so the green ones at least are dry filters? I guess one could assume that the standard is also a dry filter?

edit: just looked at the listing and it says "BWoody Velocity Plus intake with dry charger "

I'm pretty sure they both are dry.
The "drycharger" is the name of the bag that you can buy that goes over the filter(above picture you can see it) that helps keep the filter dry so no water gets in the supercharger

ahhh ok. I'm still assuming that the blue filter does not require being oiled. You would think I would have looked at the paperwork in the box last night to see if it said anything about the filter but I didn't.

I prefer dry filters now. Dealt with oiled ones and see no difference other than extra maintenance TBH

Got this installed today but I’m worried I didn’t get the tube far enough into the silicon elbow. My adjuster that attaches to the corner of the supercharger is adjusted all the way out and @BlueTRX has his adjusted all the way in.

Do you have a picture of what you’re referring to?

That's no biggie.
Mine took a bit of tweaking as well after it was in place. Slowly turn the tube towards the coolant reservoir so that the distance gets smaller.

It took me a few tries twisting the elbow end around the TB and the tube on the other end to have it reach the supercharger and get bolted on properly. Keep trying and you'll get them set properly.
I see you zip tied the sensor to the hose...good move

My biggest concern is that it’s sitting to high and the hood could be rubbing it.

Yea I remembered your post about zip tying the sensor, and without the zip tie I could see the wire being pulled back.

I have the JMB, it’s loud and my wife hates it. Go ahead and enjoy the whine. All these cold/hot air talk means they haven’t paid much attention to the actual temp. It’s all hot air, especially when the traffic is not moving. Mine is 40 to 50F above outside temp.

I want to get some more drive time in, but I’m pretty confident that my S&B is going to be for sale soon.

now my next question about the bwoody filters is are they cleanable? I Know the S&B dry filter is a one or two time clean process but only by blowing out with air. No water.
