So while I was working on my wrap, I found a couple more issues. First is the exhaust. I should have noticed right away when I got the truck, but was too excited to be looking to closely. Look at the exhaust tips. The left tip is way off center with the bumper. Annoying as hell, but not a MAJOR issue. Still stupid that I will have to bring it in to have it fixed.

However, the second issue is downright scary. Sorry for the image quality, but look how the spare was mounted. The retainer wasn't even all the way in the hole! Can you imagine a 35 inch tire dropping from under the truck at 75mph on the highway? That's a MAJOR safety concern. Both these problems would be easily caught at the factory if someone simply wanted to TAKE THE TIME to make sure the job was done correctly!

Jeeeezzz

My exhaust tips are like that too... I had the same reaction, can't believe I didn't notice that earlier. But no sign of damage, so I'm assuming it came from the factory like that.

Looks like they should throw in bed mounted tire carries for everyone for free.... You know, for safety reasons

Yikes. That tire thing is scary. Gonna have to add it to the list of things to inspect before delivery @KnightMare.

Really good find and thanks for sharing. I have seen a rogue tire down a hwy before......it DOES NOT end well for whatever it hits.

I remember seeing a few trackhawks back when those were new that also had exhaust tip alignment issues. Hopefully its an easy fix.

If it is like the other 1500 duals, there is 1 clamp you loosen and then the last 18" or so of the exhaust adjusts on a ball type connection. It's rather easy when the exhaust is new.

I am going to have to take a day off and PDI the truck with the tech looks like.

The distressed flag on the tailgate is nice! Is there a spare tire lock in the hole you use to lower the tire down?

what do PDIs even look at anyway? truck turns on and has 5 wheels?

At least if the spare dropped at speed, the rear axle bracket is always screwed in correctly. Wouldn’t want cascading failures

Dealers think it is a joke. Not going to be when someone gets hurt and I have all this proof to win a lawsuit against Ram and dealers

FCA should recall all TRX trucks for safety check, before someone dies. The installation errors is atleast 20+ items reported, maybe higher.

But they will never take the bad press.

Mine went on the lift, at the extreme truck shop Monday, they checked everything out and walked me thru all the video items reported so far, for free. Well it cost me giving owner a TRX HellRex ride on highway up to 115MPH.

Everyone should get their truck on lift and check it out. Not worth getting stranded, injured, killing someone accidentally or yourself.
