Please tell me someone has figured out how to stop the chirping and squealing that sounds like belts or a nest of birds. It annoys me worse than a crying baby on an 8hr flight. Over 100K for this!!! Help!!!!!!

I was lead to believe that the sounds you are describing are “normal” and just how that engine sounds.

I love the sound lol. Feels like a big old school V8 chopping away

If it sounds like the squeak is coming from the dash it’s probably the windshield wiper arm. It’s posted on here.

Could this be what you are talking about? If so, there is quite a bit of previous discussion regarding this. Mine does this but usually goes away after it fully warms up, but not always.

Its coming from the engine and or cats......its typical of the HC platform.
Floor it and enjoy !

Regarding the chirp, Bob Knight's quote sums it up perfectly. "If rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it.”

It's pretty dam annoying, even though it is considered "normal" it sounds like there is something in need of repair.

Heat wrapping the passenger side header down to the cat is supposed to muffle it but I have no tried.

I saw a youtube video of a truck with tubular headers and it's catalytic convertors deleted. The sound was still there but further down into the exhaust system. After seeing that I've given up hope on eliminating the chirp.

You can always sell the truck and get your $100K back.

Did I mention the truck was $100K?

Totally unacceptable for a $100K truck.
Nothing irks me more than people inserting the "for a 100K truck" justification every time there's a problem. My damn mclaren had more problems than this truck has given me.

I’ve found that when I put it in drive from park or neutral the chirps get louder lol

Just my 2 cents... mine developed a chirp noise upon start up didn't go away and annoyed the crap out of me.

Took it to my mechanic he used the stethoscope and we found the noise coming from the water pump. Made sense as soon as the truck warmed up it would kick on and chirp. Was told lots of hellcat water pumps and pulleys go to shit. My truck has 21K miles. He said around 50k he sees them commonly shit to bed.
Took it to the dealer the tech said heard chirp coming from the water pump and one of the pulleys. Removed the pulley, it had the inner rubber seal gone bad and rust was showing. Replaced it and chirp was still going on. Dealer then replaced the water pump, chirp went away.

Dealer tech said HC pulleys do rust and I noticed the replacement pulley had a newer design possibly improved to withstand water corrosion.

Get your truck to a mechanic and try to hear where the noise is coming from. I bet you it's a rusty pulley or the water pump.

Had ours in to the dealer last week and was told they are working on a fix, Dodge knows about it. I have a 16 Hellcat Challenger and have never had this noise. It is annoying and sounds like there’s a problem. No cure in sight according to the dealer.
