Ram 1500 TRX Blasted to 60 MPH in 3.7 Seconds in Our Testing
How is that even possible? It's certainly one of the great performance surprises of the year.

2021 ram 1500 trx front head on in motion

FCA
  • We recently tested a Ram 1500 TRX, and it dramatically outperformed expectations for straight-line acceleration.
  • Its 3.7-second shot to 60 mph is far quicker than Ram's 4.5-second estimate, which it provided at the TRX's launch.
  • However, using simple equations to calculate horsepower based on vehicle weight, quarter-mile time, and trap speed suggest that the TRX's power is in line with the stated figure of 702 horsepower.
Our gut reaction to the Ram TRX's truly astonishing acceleration—shooting to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds at 110 mph—had us wondering if our truck had been slipped a 797-hp Redeye engine or maybe an 840-hp Demon.......

That is wild. Ram really needs to just start making and delivering this truck. 3.7 is absolutely insane for how heavy this truck is.

Wow.....truly impressive. ?

LOL has everyone seen the MPG? 12 combined... 10 City, 14 Hwy..

not that it matters, but it does... and it doesn't... hahahahaha
Sounds bad, but look at the MPG of the other hellcat vehicles and the Raptor (which is a v6 with over 200 less HP) and it looks less bad. Now, if that EPA number is as far off as the MPG in my Ram Rebel is we will be in trouble. I think my Rebel returns like 14.5 MPG against an estimated 17 MPG combined or roughly 85% of the economy it is supposed to get. If that is the case I will be getting just under 10 MPG in my TRX which will have the 33 gallon tank only getting me about 300 miles down the road...that will make the gas station happy. I better call them and let them know to stock up on 93 octane, I am going to need a lot of it.

This does not look good for my driver's license. NJ tends to frown on accelerating away at every traffic light.....
