All of this talk about defective issues has me thinking about canceling my order.... I put $9,500 down on a $95,000 truck (dealer did sell to me at MSRP), but I believe the dealer will refund me because of buying several other cars from them. Think I should cancel?

After seeing it in person a couple days ago there is no way I’d cancel. It’s incredible. Besides if it has reoccurring issues then you can sell it for near what you paid. Seems like risk free opportunity to try out the most badass truck out there

No, I don't. Statistically your truck should be fine and if it has a minor issue they will fix it...It's worth the risk for this beast!
Good point. Thanks.

Hopefully selling it will not be required but you are definitely right that is an option especially since I got it at MSRP.

The dealer is trying to get me to put a deposit on a Rubicon 392 as well, so I do have to admit that it crossed my mind to swap the deposit to a 392 order... I rather have the truck but I will be pissed if the TRX comes in and ends back up in service.

David - I was in your exact position three days ago. The reality is that 99% of the issues are assembly issues. I completely disagree with others to just take it and let warranty handle. If you are like me, we don't want to be wasting our time and energy chasing down warranty claims. Take the list of issues and ask your dealer to do a thorough inspection. If you are super anal (like me), you will take your own mechanic and have him go over, which is exactly what I did last night. I only have 10 miles under my belt, but I firmly believe that a simple inspection will resolve the vast majority of issues and will give you peace of mind. I may eat my words, but it sure looks that way. Also, the truck is absolutely glorious, as evidenced by the fact that I was actually chased down by one driver on my 10 mile drive home to rave about the truck. Stated another way, the reward far exceeds the risk if you mitigate it.

Thank you. Great feedback!

My truck was built two days ago. Still waiting on it. I was just at a dealer close to me having my Redeye serviced, and wouldn't you know it, they had my exact LE build sitting on the show room floor (SOLD for $20K ADM, which is why I didn't purchase through them). But, just walking around that truck and soaking it in...NO WAY I WOULD CANCEL. This has to be the best looking truck I've ever laid my eyes on. LOVE the Anvil. Now, my dealer just needs to get their hands on my build!!!

The best way I can word it is don't let Ram brands communication and customer care failures take away from you experience of a good product that is the TRX. There are few more issues then we would all like but having seen the truck in person and knowing what it is, it will be worth it. The TRX is just special. The issues so far have been manageable quality control issues. Should we have to be doing a 100 point inspection on a new 90k truck, probably not but its still worth it.

I have been very obnoxious and critical of Ram on the forum. To a point where I am sure I've irked a bunch of people but trust me man, don't cancel. Will this be my first and last Ram purchase, probably. The brand sucks for a lot of reasons but there is nothing like the TRX so they can hide behind the awesome product this one time. I totally get where you are coming from and if it helps, you are not there alone. I am right here with you in frustration and concern but the TRX will be worth it. Sounds like you have a good dealer for after purchase so that's a big plus too.

Just think... if there was no internet and forums you’d just be sitting home waiting for an awesome truck your ordered to be built and arrive. Then when something went wrong you’d bring it to the dealer, they’d fix it and you’d be back on the road tearing it up. The internet is great but also sucks cause I also was having doubts for awhile reading all the bad stuff but I changed my mind. I bought my 2019 ram in April of 2018 and didn’t do any research, just saw it and bought it and beer had an issue and I’m sure others have it I never bothered to research it. Don’t cancel your order cause you’ll probably kick yourself in the ass later.

Anything can go wrong with any car, my parents bought a brand new top of the line 1997 Ford Explorer and we were driving and the axle fell off out of nowhere. Luckily we were driving in a construction zone and going slow so nothing happened to us, we had it towed, they fixed it, gave us some free shit and drove it trouble free for the next 10 years.

I bought my 2019 Ram in 2018 as well. If i had paid any attention to the 5th Gen Forum, with all the "Ram is unreliable" chat, I would not have the 40,000 trouble free miles I currently have. I come to forums to see what issues arise so that I can keep a watchful eye. I don't come to forums to make my purchase decisions.

I will need more than a hug if the damn thing ends up sitting in service all the time!

No don’t do it!!! I promise you’ll regret it. This truck is absolutely amazing. This is a vehicle that by all sensible meaning should have never even been a thought in some car manufacturers brain. But please thank the Truck Gods that it does exist and is one Badddd Asssss MF’r. Cheers
