Came home from vacation and TRX NOT WELL.

I just got back from a vacation in Florida and came home to see that my 24’x26’ portable Garage collapsed on my TRX. I got it uncovered and dropped it off at the body shop yesterday. I’m really hoping that it comes back like new but concerned about the damage and how it should be fixed so it is done right. I’ll add some pictures so you can see the damage and what everyone thinks. It has a hole in the roof, hole in the hood creased and dented passenger pillar. Bunch of deep scratches and dents.

Yeah that is true for sure. I’m mainly worried how they will fix the cab damage. Dents, deep scratches, hole right through that you can see daylight through it , also worried about the dent long crease in the a-pillar. I just want it back and fixed right.

That's a lot of damage. Are those portable garages rated to carry a snow load?

I’ve had the portable garage for about 5 years now and never had any issues. I do push the snow off after each storm. I was away and we got a couple snow storms probably had about 9” of snow on it then we got some freezing rain which is what probably collapsed it with the extra weight. Bad decision on my part, in hindsight I should have just put the truck in my backyard and just cleaned off the snow when I got back. Just hoping for the best.

the cab and A-Pillar... the hood and windshield. Worst case there are a ton used ones you can get from FB marketplace. Or go Carbon Fiber.

Absolutely horrible. I say let the shop do it's thing. If you're unhappy with the results just trade it in and get a low mileage clean one. Still plenty out there. Good luck with everything.

I just heard back from the body shop. Looks like about &15,000 or so in damages. They are going to put a new roof on it, new windshield, new dash, new hood and repaint. The bad news is the parts are back ordered and who knows how long before the parts come in. I am happy that they are going to fix it as I do love the truck.

I had coconut fall on my roof ( i have no sunroof), that couldn't be pulled because the metal had stretched, and so i replaced the roof. i think that's where you at. good luck.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and less labour intensive to gut out and remove the cab, paint and put on a new/used cab then reinstall all your interior again?

This car was crashed shortly after it was bought new. Roof was smashed flat. Stored in a garage for 20 years. My grandpa bought it from original owner and replaced the roof for my grandma. Stories of the old timers doing donuts in it shortly after they cut the roof off are pretty amusing. I'm confident your truck can be fixed, hopefully sooner than later .
