Has anyone seen dyno results for the Borla ATAK system? I can't help but think the 2" diameter pipes used in the "Switch Fire" crossover section causes a bottle neck.
Could its design create a savaging effect which makes up for the loss of cross-section when compared to 3" pipe?
The front/inlet collector also looks like it would create some turbulence as the exhaust enters, kind of hard to see in the photo but the transition is not smooth and creates two pockets.

I have no experience with Borla but want to know: does it retain the X-pipe design the TRX has?

I would not want to lose the vacuum the x creates (Venturi effect). The vacuum actually helps boost power.

Does AWE use that X pipe or is it an H pipe? I wanna say Corsa uses an X-pipe

No dyno results but do have the Atak installed, sounds badass! I read somewhere that it outflows a straight pipe but don’t know if I believe that. It really cracks at wide open throttle.

I didn't take a picture of them side by side, but screenshotted this out of a online video.

Wow funky design. I would email Borla and ask for a dyno sheet.
Part of me wants to believe borla made it like that because of flow, because i do truly love borla. Had them on multiple mustangs and couldn't have been happier....but another part of me says they are making things overcomplicated to justify the price.

I wonder if the Corsa using an X pipe would yield any improvements? Just thinking on mods adding boost etc...if it would in the long run
Over an H-pipe? Yes if they actually use an X pipe. The vacuum created at high RPMs should definitely help boost power. I cannot remember any dyno evidence but it makes sense you would see some gains at high RPMs due to the vacuum sucking hot exhaust gas out of the motor.

I somehow broke my OEM exhaust around the drivers side axle. As a result, I have both Borla and AWE exhausts enroute from Johnny at Just Bolt Ons. Putting the Borla on the wifes TRX, and the AWE on mine. Due to the location of my OEM exhaust damage, the Borla wasn’t an option. I know Borla from other vehicles and always love the sound, so it was my initial thought for replacement. This will be my first experience with AWE.

I look forward to getting to know both systems, as researching these things online is frustrating. Will report my findings after I run them for a couple months.

These are my first mods!

Awesome!! That should be a good comparison. I have the Borla since my truck was new, two and a half years already. I think it sounds great.
