Black Front Skid Plate

Thanks for the Part Number, I have the black skid plate on order!

I am capable of swapping it out myself but I was wondering if there is any write up or videos for doing this swap on the TRX? Or anyone that has done this have any tips or tricks?

Ok,
so here is a pic of my recently delivered TRX.
My skid plate is NOT silver. However, it is not quite black either, but I think very close to the rest of the front end. I had a 2012 Raptor and always hated that silver skid with the rest of the front end black. I am not sure i will take the time a trouble to remove and replace or powder coat. Take a look. Did Ram change mid stream to a diff color?
Am i just nit seeing it right?
Folks that dont have their truck yet may want to wait to see.

That's the skid plate every TRX has, it's not silver but it's not black either.

Interesting.
Actually the whole front end has several various ” black” parts. None of which totally match.
Id love to see the bumper, skid, plastic all the same flat matt black.

The oem black skid plate is exactly the same color and texture as the TRX front bumper.

TRX comes with Rebel skid plate in what I think is called "Smoked" a grey color. As another forum member tried to order a matte black one from local dealer and when opened it was silver/grey and insert inside box said it was smoked color.
Everyone calls it silver or grey, as its not black.

Your exterior paint color, background light and amount of flash will make the skid plate look different colors. See how granite exterior makes it look darker.

thats th look that i am after. Great. Well I will just have the shop do that along with the AMP steps and whatever else pops up soon.
Hmmm, like black lug nuts, really, chrome-ish on the truck that has no chrome anywhere excepts the bright spots in headlights etc.

No trx yet, supposedly shipped. But, I was all for this mod until I saw what was involved. Got mine black on black, so I'm either painting it, or sucking it up and doing this.

Some people have had there dealership install it as a currency when purchasing the truck as long as you have the part ordered there prior to arrival ‼️ I had my local dealership do mine as I didn't want to deal with it it cost $475

It is quite a bit of work but totally worth it! The hardest part I had was removing 1 of the bolts to remove the bumper. My socket barely fit in the space.

Mine is in route to the dealership now and this is exactly what I’m having them do. They already have the part on hand and will be installing it prior to me picking it up.

Wow! I consider myself pretty mechanically sufficient. I do all my own mods and have to all my vehicles, and that video looks down right maddening. Seriously may be worth spending the cash to have the dealer do. Contemplating.
