I’ll start by saying I have ordered a TRX at RAM 24 in Brockton MA on 10/27. Last night I found a TRX on the lot and for sale at Best RAM, Plymouth MA. The TRX had more options then I ordered and the sticker on it was $92k. I made an appointment with a salesman and we spoke briefly about the truck, the appointment was confirmed by email and text with the dealership as well. I fell in love with the truck and told him that I’d take it, I asked him to check and see what they would give me for my trade. While we were at my truck getting my registration I showed him my order form from RAM 24 in Brockton. He looked at the price and said “ours is about $20k more”. I looked at him puzzled and asked what he meant, we had just gone over the truck, looked at the window sticker and advertised price. At this point in time he tells me the TRX is $10K over MSRP. I chuckled and we both went inside. I thought about it for a few minutes and told him I wouldn’t be paying over MSRP. He went to speak to the “manager” to see if he could sell it at MSRP. No Dice! Told me manager wants to keep it marked up 10k for a month and if it doesn’t sell after a month then he’d call me to see what he could do.....What an absolute waste of time. I went from an extreme High of thinking I’d be driving the truck home to a pissed off low. My point here.....don’t fall for the online ad without asking if there is ADM prior to driving down and looking at a TRX! I guess I’ll be waiting a few more months for my ordered TRX to get here!

What a shitshow.

I feel you. I had the same thing happen in November (no truck there, just placing an order) to me except I called and they verbally confirmed @ msrp. When I arrived and after I selected the options and everything (1 hour later) they brought out papers for me to sign at $20,000 over like I wouldn't notice. Michigan City Ram (Matt) you know who you are. Lousy.

I almost bought that truck. I was on the phone with them and pushed them to confirm price. I told them that they don't win any prizes for getting me to the dealer and then have me leave without buying. Confirm the price and got the 10k ADM confirmation. Pushed them hard and got them back down to MSRP but they got me back on my trade. worked that up but communication went silent. Rep said it might be sold. Spoke 20 mins ago that GM would be willing to work out numbers with me now. (Guessing you walked out the door haha) but ultimately decided to just wait on my order rather then bite the bullet on my trade. Sales rep was really cool but I guess GM came over the top. Stinks they brought you in to then pull that out of the bag.

Went thru something similar with another MA dealer . They have a dealer stock order, which is currently in transit. Went back and forth on what was in the "total price" to find out in the end it was 10k ADM. I'll hang out in limbo land for a little longer before I drop another 10k on this truck..

Yeah. Its stinks that dealers are ashamed of advertising their ADM and try to stick it in last minute. I have no problem if a dealer wants to try to stick an ADM to someone, just be open about it so we as customers don't waste our time. I had a dealer last month confirm MSRP to me and then we went as far as get all the paperwork and a purchase order in place and they hit me with 15k in "fees" that were never mentioned until I saw the purchase order.

I always though the dealer wins when something is sold. How many people they get in the store doesn't make them any money. I had a chevy dealer do a similar thing to me back when the C8s were just arriving where the got me in only to tell me they suddenly decided it was 20k over sticker.....I took a water bottle from their customer refreshment fridge and said you didn't sell me a car and lost a $1 on the water bottle. I felt so badass lol.

The entire experience was just wild to me, I showed him all my paperwork from my ordered TRX @ MSRP and even told him I had substantial amount of cash to put down + my trade IF they wanted it F350 King Ranch 6.7. Also had the title in hand for the F350.

That’s too funny, I wonder if I was the one they “potentially” had it sold to. I argued the fact that I had one ordered at MSRP and paying $10k to have one that wasn’t too my spec 3 months early wasn’t worth the $10k.

Mind if I ask what dealer? All these MA dealers seem to be shady as hell. I called 5 dealers in October before I found RAM 24 in Brockton that was willing to order one @ MSRP for me.

Totally. I would never pay over MSRP for any vehicle because unless I sell it in 3 months to someone else for over sticker, I am going to lose an arm and leg for depreciation. Did you by any chance get an email just now with an estimated delivery? Looks like they sent out Q2 emails. FYI 24 is a great dealership. super friendly and helpful. Just stinks cause FCA should be rewarding these dealers with more allocation and priority builds for representing the brand properly with MSRP orders.

No email for me, I texted my salesman Travis to see if there are any updates. I agree with you on 24, I bought a brand new 4 door lifted Jeep there back in 2013 and the process was seamless.

There are a multitude of upsides to capitalism.... GREED isn’t one of them.
Meh. The greedy ones typically gain short term but lose long. With all this dealer stock bullshit combined with a May delivery on my simple tr2 build with 5k adm, I may just cancel and see what pops up. I already have 2 semi solid first allocation agreements on the Raptor R.

Trades always screw it up. If you need to trade, that has to be part of the negotiation of they will just screw you at the closing table. Happens with ordered cars/trucks all the time. Sorry you guys are going through this.

So true and with high demand cars or trucks, we lose all leverage to negotiate. Nature of the game unfortunately.

I hear ya, I didn’t need to trade and I made them aware of that. I think they were going to try and make more money off me on it though, no time for that.
