Ben Hardy TRX Video - Out of Commission

Wow.... I am honestly reconsidering right now
So you didn’t see his delivery vid..... wouldn’t say he was breaking it in properly. But I too am interested in what happened. His truck was one of those that jumped the line if you know what I mean.

edit: oh that’s right he got it from Ancira....??

Come on Man... have some faith. Life is always a crap shoot.
I don’t live super close to a dealership. My dad has been giving me endless crap about buying a “Dodge”. He’s a Ford guy for sure and I drove a Ford F-250 all through high school with zero issues. I’ve lived in Texas for almost 20 years and have been dying to get a truck. The TRX checked every box but reliability....

I’m with you. But there is a bit of rivalry between the Ford peeps and the Dodge peeps. I mean you got to do what you want, but I wouldn’t look at a youtuber and make your decision. Remember they need drama to get clicks... and just so you know I haven’t watched the vid yet. But I have watched a couple of his earlier ones and I can’t say I was impressed. Cheers my friend.

edit: and by the way I live 80 miles from the dealership.... each way.

I'm not familiar with this person, their history of impartiality, or how professional youtubers monetize.

So this might be completely on the level and exactly as documented.
However there sure are a lot of Raptors and Ford products in general in that video conveniently there to point, laugh, and 'save the day.' If I cared enough I'd have a couple of follow up questions.

I'm not saying ... I'm just saying.

Fluid all over the ground, and he says he’s going to go try to start it.
Yeah that’s the part that completely floors me. It’s leaking fluid, so let me start it up and check the dash lights. Not super intelligent. He drives it back to the dealer???He’s apparently never heard of a tow truck.

Oh dare I say that he just sold his old raptor and then got his new Trx and then stated he was going to get the next gen raptor and not the super car he’s been talking about to his peeps. (sorry for the run on sentence) Basically saying it’s going to be much more interesting to compare the 2 trucks instead.... him being a raptor lover...... what he said above too. 😂😂

Oh and here's a little whataboutism ... it doesn't fix issues that anyone may have with their TRX, just pointing out the sensitive nature of high performance vehicles, and that douche in the vid that twists his nipples cajun guy in Waterboy style talking about Raptor reliability.

These are not my trucks but my 18 Raptor also had this exact issue, along with MANY others, and needed turbo replacements. (Receipt: White Smoke)

Yup this was common thing on Gen 2 Raptors and eco-boost engines in general across many platforms, and I don't even know if Ford ever got around to fixing the defective turbo gasket issue at the production level before moving on to the Gen 3. After telling me that my truck cheech & chonging itself is 'normal' (even though there was a service bulletin about it) and pulling teeth to get it dealt with, they eventually did fix it.

It was fine, I loved my Raptor before and after this incident ... but this idea that the Raptor is a Camry is nonsense.

He may have been a little overly flappy with his flappy paddles. ZF 8-Speeds are well tune in Cilantro products. I would be shocked if you even needed to use them in this truck.
I was thinking the same. Also he is an idiot that can’t drive.

I want to drive one in anger and see what happens. I already know the brakes are going to be shit but I have a hard time reconciling how such a front heavy truck has the described handling issues. Heavy front and light rear equals loose to me but everyone says they don’t turn in and push in corners.

but yeah. High performance vehicles can be persnickety. I’ve seen more supercars burn in video than anything else. Almost had one go up on me. They are still amazing

He obviously should of watched my defective TRX videos...

He kept on engine breaking the truck which you can't do and not using the brakes, and he doesn't have the foggiest idea of how to drive off-road.. I bet if he had the tranny temp gauge up he would have seen that it was on fire. Look at 4:10 and thereafter. He's redlining the shit out of by engine braking. It isn't a diesel. Dump fuck.

Curious why you say you can’t engine brake a truck. With the brakes on the trx being so smallI assumed I would be using the brakes and motor to slow down. Not saying redlined all the time. Just an assist.

i was also wishing we could see the detailed gauges.
