So I ordered Beadlock-Capable wheels for my TRX and I am confused what "capable" means. It sure looks like there is the bead lock ring. I read another thread about the 24 bolt is a read ring and a 12 bolt is just for looks...I don't need the read deal, I just like the way it looked. I just want to make sure I didn't add a$1900 option that when it shoes up there is no ring at all? Hopefully this question makes since LOL

Yes, the truck will come with the wheels and the silver “beauty” ring with the 12 bolts. You would have to buy the true bead lock forged ring and bolts from Ram/MOPAR and then have the tire bead reseated outside of the wheel and “locked“ by the rings. You never have to buy the true rings nor use them If you don’t want to.

THAT is the answer I was hoping for...perfect. kinda dumb to spend that kind of money for just looks...but...well I don't care LOL

So how do I tell if mine are true bead lock , can I just remove the ring without having to let the air out of the tire?

A real bead lock will have bolts spaced evenly around the rim about 1" apart. If there are varying spaces or they are spaced 2-3+ inches apart, it's most likely, not a real bead locked rim.

12 bolts is the beauty ring.

24 bolts is the real beadlock ring.

Plus the beadlock ring sits off the rim, so the tire will be sandwhiched between the ring and the wheel. Or if you have the real ring on but didn’t mount the tire to be “bead locked”; there will be a gap between the ring and the wheel.

12 bolts = fake beauty ring
24 bolts = real beadlock

Also, a real beadlock will have the bead of the tire sandwiched between it and the wheel, whereas a fake beadlock will have the tire bead inside the lip of the rim. Look closely at the edge of the wheel/ring... if there's a double lip (wheel rim + ring), it's fake.

LOL - beat by Fifty! :)

Well I have 12 bolts and my tire lip is in the beauty ring. With that being said can I just take the ring off with the weight of the truck still on the ground , also do I need to let thes
air out.

Wait what? Take a picture and post it.

You’re tire should not be sandwhiched in the Beauty ring

It can be hard to see the actual wheel behind the ring, but if you look close at Fifty's 2nd pic, you can see the double wall... wheel rim and beauty ring. The tire is definitely behind the wheel.

I can't really see it either way in your pic, due to the angle. HOWEVER - if you really think the tire was mounted on the OUTSIDE of the wheel, meaning someone mounted the tire AS IF the beauty ring was a true bead lock:

1 - I don't know how the hell that's holding air
2 - Do NOT remove the beauty ring without raising the tire off the ground and deflating it first.

BTW - I love your floor!

New pict.

Yep.

Those are the beauty rings. And the tires are mounted correctly for the beauty ring.

The beadlock ring is a 24 bolt ring and a part you need to buy
