So I Bought some headers I plan on putting them on this weekend. I was wondering who in here has installed them before and if you have any tips on install to make it a little easier. I am also wondering roughly how long install takes. Thank you in advance.

There are a few people with them. I believe that they all have been installed by shops and that they were reportedly a nightmare.

Mine are ordered and will be to me in about 3weeks.
The dealer in Longview Texas will install....they should help a lot judging from the current exhaust manifold

I am sure you will need a tune with them, so probably also why most will get them done with a shop. When I had my CTS-V I installed headers at home and it immediately went crazy (I knew this would happen) and had to take it to a shop to get my upper pulley and then tune done.

I would like to know from those that have installed. I have 250 miles on my 22, and have had the headers sitting here for months.

I was planning on doing the install myself, I believe there was some trimming to do on the stock pipes.

I'm hoping it does not require a tune. Can anyone confirm if it threw codes? I know it is best, but I am trying to avoid the warranty issue with tune. I know they can complain about the headers.

When my truck arrives I’m gonna do mine myself. Did 3 sets in the 5.7l. Driver side was a nightmare since each screw takes an hour to get tight due to access. Not same engine but shouldn’t be too far off. Access is always the main issue. Not a lot of room
There. Jack it up take tires off and remove what’s needed. Starter had to come out on the 5.7l. Oil dipstick and few other things.

I will be able to confirm all of this weekend for you.

I don't plan on tuning yet either so im just as interested to see how it plays out.

Thanks ! Please do and good luck. I do remember as another post just mentioned, the dipstick removal on the 5.7 was the worst part for me when I put headers on it.

from what ive read so far you only need to remove the bracket of the dipstick and replace it with one they give you. But ill make sure to take a note maybe a video for you guys.

Thanks, I need to go check the box, I don't remember seeing a replacement dipstick. I just remember the bracket holding the dipstick was the biggest PITA to actually get to on the 5.7. I think I spent an hour trying to get something in there just to cut it away so I could get the dipstick off.

lol hoping that won't be me... have you thought about putting a sled deck in your truck. I just bought a summit turbo 165 and id like to get a sled deck but my payload is telling me differently.....

Ok, so just opened the box with parts and the install guide. The guide is very nice, high def color pics and clearly laid out. I had to remove the dipstick on the 5.7, it appears just the bracket and then they provide the replacement brackets, not an actual dipstick. Aside from a general lack of space, it looks pretty straightforward.

space on driver side is my most concern I was looking under the hood tho other day and there is a boat load of room on passenger side.
