This was very helpful and ran my wire the same way, but mounted the V1G2 in the upper left corner of windshield to reduce its visibility. Still debating where to mount the concealed display, most likely will put it under the launch control; my strong preference is for a 'dark' display so attention is not drawn to the detector. It was super simple. I ordered this hardwire kit for my radar from Amazon:
Escort Direct Wire Power Cord for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0003NN83U?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I ran the wire along the headliner and down the door seal, tapping into a fuse in the fuse box under the steering wheel. The panel in front of the fuse box under the steering column is easily removed by two screws along the bottom side and pulling it off. As for the wire, I was able to tuck it into the headliner and under the door seal, routing it to the fuse box without and tools.
I tapped a fuse in the fuse box i found on the Ram 5th gen forum - people were talking about it being a fuse not in use for anything; not sure if that’s the case on our TRX but I used it nevertheless and found it to only receive power the ACC is on or the engine started.
below are pictures with a mark up of my routing, the panel removed under the steering column to gain access to the fuse box, and a picture (not mine) taken from the 5th gen forum of the fuse I used in the fuse box.
