Anybody try this 3rd brake light camera relocation kit yet??

Didnt realize its plastic. Holes are close to lining up but this mount will blast into smithoreens within 1 offroad rip. Need to find same thing but aluminum version should work
Idk man, every GoPro mount I've ever seen is plastic and they hold up just fine.

Hey that's true and didnt even cross my mind. That plastic feels like a totally different league than this amazon one though. I would categorize the "feel" difference to be akin to sheet metal vs. 1/4" aluminum

Yea fair point, GoPro probably spent a fair bit of cash developing those mounts.

Ok so i took a closer look last night and im not seeing a lot of options for routing out of the cab (especially in the back seat area). Anybody have a good idea for routing a cable out of the cab in the 2nd row area?

If I'm going to go out the firewall, then i might as well route the cable directly from the rear-view mirror and not even mess with the connection in the 2nd row headliner (at the 3rd brake light). But would like to know if anyone has a good solution for the 2nd row cab exit routing...

Just keep it simple and go out the firewall. There’s wires already going that way and I’m sure it’ll be much cleaner and give you a peace of mind.

Probably what i'll end up having to do. Would like the option though if doesnt require any drilling

Check out this video, he's installing a BAP, but you can see how he routes the wiring at about the 30 second mark through a big grommet in the floor. This is exactly how I did my BAP.

BAP Install

Btw, i reached out to Camera Source and they doNOT sell the camera bracket/housing separately.

Well, I decided to take a few minutes to pull down the dash cam and see if I could get the camera to work and you’re going to need a female to female Connection if you want to run it from the rearview mirror so all four of my different length (male to female) cables are useless for this setup lol.

In other news, I did find where that BAP guy was routing out of his cab, but I am somewhat afraid to touch it because of how many water crossings and things we do. The last thing I need is to be bringing in gallons of water into my floorboard where I have 50lbs of random gear stored.

This is pretty much the same thing we did on our little Canyons. Although they don't come with the digital mirror. Just run the cable through the headliner to the A-pillar, down to the floor and out through the same grommet your topper wires are coming from. Just follow them all the way back to where it goes into the bed. Buy some split loom and zip ties the shit out of it.

If you're worried about water getting in, I would drill a hole and buy a grommet online that fits the wire perfectly.

Thing is, if you're in water that high, it's coming in through the doors anyway.

Not perfect but mounting location is 98% and angle is 95% so i can live with that. It was hard AF to get the angle dialed in. The way the cross bars are angled made it point to the sky lol. Managed to route the cables perfectly so there is a quick disconnect right at the bulkhead for when we wanna remove the rack/etc. Took some videos of the process so someone can benefit from, use the good & bad, and come out on top.
