Has the question of how to Dealers get allotment been answered? I would love to know how they qualify for a trx allotment? Is it based on sales? Who you know? Bribery? :)

I do not know first hand about the TRX, but know past SRT and special vehicles allocations have been based on sales volume of that product line.

I was told by my dealership that it was based upon how many "Hellcat" type vehicles were sold. They only got 1 LE but could order many NON - LE

My dealership also said something about if they bought 5 hybrid pacifica's they would get another allocation.
There are definitely games played and allocations awarded for purchase of items not moving. 'You scratch my back Ill scratch yours' is still true.

Those responsible for issuing allocations are trying to make sure they receive maximum value by using them meet their other quotas/goals.

I think it is more typical for the award of an allocation to be based on total sales volume or the least sold trim level... It could be "Hellcat" type vehicles, but I would assume those are pretty easy to move. OEMs want to award hard to get vehicles to those producing the most profit to the OEM.

that makes sense. Move the slow seller's and use a TRX as bait

The reason I asked is that I ordered from Dave Smith whose dealership sells a crap load of vehicles, but was told they were waiting for more allotments before they put in my order. I didn't realize until I joined this forum that many had ordered a long time ago. I will either get a 22 and folks will nod knowingly, or I will get one before them and be really unpopular

How long ago did you reach out to Dave Smith?

TRX allocations were given out based on Light Duty (1500) sales volume. To my know, SRT and HD sales had no impact on this.

01/15 I put in a deposit, Just heard back from My salesperson @ Dave Smith, that I am now 12th in line for the next allotment. Bad news is that it will be quite a while, good news is it will be anti matter powered and have hover capabilities when I finally get it.

Anecdotally there is a dealer near my house that does a TON of volume however a few years back there was a guy with about 100k youtube subscribers that had a replacement hellcat engine (that he paid for not a warranty claim) installed and the day he drove it home it started on fire because they didn't hook the fuel lines up properly. The dealership refused to replace it because his car was "moded" and they actually got the police to file charges against him for "street racing" and "child endangerment" for stuff he was doing in his car for youtube and caused him to remove all his videos and shut down his youtube channel. So his subscribers all went on and gave the dealership terrible reviews and their customer rating tanked. That dealership still does not have a single TRX allocation and the dealer I ordered my truck from that is much smaller has got 3 allocations so far. Long story short I would say that both volume and dealer customer rating are used to give out allocations.

a link to a story about his arrest (Paul Powell of Plainfield IL former youtube channel "FamilCruisin")
