Can adaptive cruise be added to a TRX that doesn’t come with it from the factory?
If anyone has added adaptive cruise, how much does something like that cost?

Judging by your posts regarding purchases I’m going to make some assumptions ( I could be 100% wrong and that’s fine)
You are really attempting to find a trx that fits your needs and seeing if you can compromise on mileage, options, etc… in order to meet a price point.
My advice is get what you want the first time.
It sounds like you will regret it if it’s not exactly what you want.

Buy once cry once.
Don’t get one you are “ok” with, get the exact one you want! If it means waiting a few more months to get a little more saved I would do that rather than buy one now that I don’t want just because it fits a price point.

I have made that mistake before and regretted it dearly.

Personally, I can't believe anyone would want to add this feature. I'd prefer not to have it and wish there was a way to turn it off in our other cars that have it.
Are you saying it cannot be turned off in your other cars or the TRX? I thought it could not be used on the TRX but I plead ignorance because 12,000 miles in and I don't believe I have ever turned on cruise control.

It works just fine on the TRX. I went through all the trouble to dismantle my steering wheel and install the switch (and then program it with AlfaOBD), and used it about 5 times. Haven't turned it back on since, so I'm not really sure why I did it in the first place.

So on the TRX, ACC being on or off is controlled via a button?

I always use ACC when I do cruise control, so I may be wrong, but I have 2 buttons. I thought 1 was for ACC and the other was for regular cruise control.

It's been a while since I played with it, but as I recall you can use either "regular" cruise or "adaptive" cruise. Button on the left is adaptive, button towards the right is regular.

Yes, that is what my steering wheel looks like. From the previous messages maybe I misunderstood. It sounded like other people only had one button.

ACC is pretty bad on this and our Ford, hits the brakes way to hard and takes to long to decide to accelerate then when it does it gives a bunch of gas.

Only car I have been in with natural feeling acc is my M5, would react same as you would driving.

Heard this when I was debating adding acc to my charger. Figured it would be great but 2 people who had said it sucks. Apparently genesis makes it work well, fca not so much. So I stopped looking.

Be interested in hearing everyone's thoughts. Your points were what was mentioned, braking sucks and acceleration sucks on acc.

I agree with those comments. It isn’t very smooth, and it doesn’t hold the exact speed very well. Sometimes it’s a bit slow, sometimes a bit fast. My wife’s Navigator does it much better.
One thing I’ll say on the good side. If you crank it up to follow closer, it does a pretty decent job of tailgating. Leaves much less room than other vehicles, meaning less people are likely to cut in.

LOL I only added ACC and the button because my steering wheel was missing it. Made sure it worked and have not used it in 3 years :)

I’ve taken many 500 mile + plus road trips in many different vehicles, and have used cruise control exactly zero times. Personally never understood why so many people like it.

I guess I'm an odd duck here, but I love the ACC on this truck. It is not as smooth as other ACC's I've used, but I hooked up comma.ai to it and it makes the ACC way better and even makes the TRX a self driving truck. Makes my cross country trips so much more relaxing.

I'm with you. If I have 100's of miles of empty road ahead of me I can just switch on ACC, turn up the tunes/audiobook/podcast, and enjoy the ride without having to work the pedals.

I'm the same, I have ACC on my Rebel and really like it. I typically only use ACC on trips or when traffic picks up, if there's minimal or no traffic I'll throw it on regular cruise. Anyway, it's a feature I like so I'll find a truck that already has it.

If you have 100's of miles of empty road ahead, then using ACC isn't any different than using regular cruise. ACC is annoying when there's a lot of traffic.
