@RamCares
I really hoped I didn't have to post here.

Clear night, 41 degrees, no fog, no precipitation, no snow, no wet roads. Just driving down i66 at 70mph to run an errand with my son and while there were vehicles behind me, there were no vehicles in front of me in either lane. I was in the right lane using Adaptive Cruise Control with the lane keep assist on. Out of no where on a straight flat section of the highway the truck went into collision prevention and popped up the BRAKE! message with all the red background. I did get my foot on the brakes to shut off the ACC but there was another truck behind me about 5 car lengths away. He was able to get into the passing lane before my truck stopped trying to haul down my speed. At 45mph it let go of the brakes and I was able to get back up to speed as traffic was fast approaching. I pulled over at the next exit and went to back the truck into a parking space that had NO vehicles on either sides of it and the collision braking went off again and stopped the truck immediately (this is not the first occurrence of the rear sensors sending a false positive, probably the 3rd now). Once parked I inspected everything I could visually and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

What a heart attack maker. I really thought I was going to cause an accident. I'm sure everyone who saw it thought I was a complete idiot. I was able to drive home with no incidents and had my son recording my description of the events while we anticipated another collision prevention false positive to occur.

I have all the settings for ACC and Lane keep set to the maximum. I will be returning those settings to default.

I just got my Dashcam delivered and will be installing it before the next time I need to drive. I will be contacting my dealer to see how they would proceed.

I've had that happen three times now, not while using adaptive cruise, just under normal driving. I turned off the parking assist and that seemed to stop it. Got my blood boiling, I do not like it when nanny's interview upon my actions.

I have had a similar problem with my Gladiator.

I may turn all that stuff off - quite concerning. :cautious:

Not that it should happen... but my tacoma would do that to me atleast once a month! Its shitty technology imo

My Ford would do the same thing usually while passing a semi, but it will give you a scare

Did you turn off parking assist completely, or just the parking assist breaking feature?

After having similar issues as well as other problems on my 2019 Jeep GC I ordered the TRX without that package. False alerts, braking on its own for no reason without warning, etc. I also grew to hate the adaptive cruise. If someone moves over in front of you on the highway as an example, it will slam on the brakes to slow you down because of distance where you may normally just tap the brake to turn off cruise and keep rolling. More than one time I almost got rear ended. I also don’t miss the lane change alert jerking the wheel when I get on the line or forget my blinker.

The Accord did that to me and had to get the camera recalibrated. Hasn't done it since. Had it on my F250 platinum and never did it.

If that's how janky this system is, I feel dumb for ordering it. We have EyeSight in our Subaru Outback and it has never behaved like this. I might be shutting it down completely then.

Damn. The BMW system works pretty well as far as adaptive. The wheel jerk can be annoying, but I use it depending on type of driving. The collision assist made me think I ran over a kid backing out of my garage is braked so hard. I turned that one off permanently. Anyone know how much flexibility you have to turn individual features on and off versus a whole package? I hope the collision assist doesn't have to be used with adaptive cruise.

Funny story, I had an A8L a couple of years ago and I was on the freeway and playing with the adaptive cruise control. I decided I wanted to test its limits, would it bring the car to a complete stop. So I engaged it at freeway speeds and then got behind a car on the offramp, system started to bring down the speed of the car and we were approaching a red light at the end of the off ramp, the car was at like 10mph from a freeway speed of 80. Well, the end of the ramp, the lanes arched left, and as the car in front of me made the arch, the radar didn't see it anymore and the Audi tried to return to freeway speed with AWD. Needless to say I had to smash the brakes really fast in order to not fly across the intersection. Puckered my butthole pretty good, almost had a code brown.

Haha. I’ve don’t similar on windy canyon roads. Guy in front goes around a hairpin and if your setpoint is way higher that actual speed, you start accelerating like hell right into a sharp curve. It’s an oh shit moment. Found there are situations where it takes the stress out of traffic driving. Others that it is just plain dangerous.

This is actually one of the reason I'm going to order rather than buy a lot truck. I find adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist HIGHLY annoying no matter what setting it's on. In my current RAM I turned the parking sensors off day 1 because I can do a much better job with mirrors and the backup cam. Those things are programmed to be very conservative.

No nannies!!!

You won't get autonomous braking without adaptive cruise control. Just FYI.
