Arrived back to Chicago O'hare from a 5 day long business trip to Europe to discover my 2023 Ram TRX was no longer in the lot last night. I immediately pulled up the app, and noticed the truck was 40 miles away, and had a lot more miles on it than when I arrived the airport, as well as the gas being close to empty (and I had just filled it up). Upon realizing the truck was in fact gone, I called security, and then they called the police.

Officer was fantastic but informed me that even though I have the exact location of the truck, they do not work to recover the vehicle unless it is seen while driving, and then they will attempt to pull it over. He informed me that the vehicles they do recover, are never the same as the crooks destroy them inside and out.. They do believe it is an inside job going on at O'hare as the crooks are targeting specific vehicles...

The truck was awesome for the 4 weeks I had it - I hadn't even completed the entire break-in process... I called the dealer where I purchased the truck from, and they are going to make some calls to see if I can get back on the list, but I am not holding my breath - anyone else have any positive experiences with Ram after their truck was stolen???
Unreal! My 2021 TRX was stolen
out of the OHare parking lot on Friday February 24th. CPD told me exact same thing: they cannot actively chase the thieves down. They are basically powerless to get in a car chase. The infuriating aspect for me was, here you are lying $46/ day at OHare for “secure” parking, yet the parking lot security is unarmed, and the detective acknowledged to me that there are multiple areas in the lot where the car can just be driven over the curb. Cop also said that specifically Dodge has an easily replicated key fob.

I’m not in a high crime area but I think because this truck is my DD I will have the IGLA system installed asap.

I buy a vehicle to drive it, whether that is to the airport, or out baja'ing, I use it.. If you aren't going to drive it, what is the point in purchasing it?!?!

The location is in the south side of Chicago, in a known gang territory - no way I am Ubering there.. If I were to go, I would be going with a convoy in tow, and bring the fight to them.. But as noted in another post, I promised the wife I would not do that. Also to note, I have received vehicle alerts about air bag malfunctions, as well as TPMS issues, so not sure what they are doing to the truck at this point, but not sure I would want to recover it at this point either..
I want the location I need a motor to drop in a 300 🤣🤣🤣. I'll go take your shit back for you

I had my Jeep SRT stolen from the airport last year. Don’t know if I was fortunate or unfortunate as it was recovered in Detroit 3 weeks later. The Police Officer observed the vehicle in a shitty part of Detroit (I thought all of Detroit was shitty) with a temporary Tennessee license plate so he got out of his vehicle and ran the VIN and it came back not valid as they had RE-vined it. The vehicle was towed back to me and after $15,000 in repairs I got the vehicle back. Tried to trade it in for the TRX and the dealership wouldn’t even give me an offer as the title had stolen vehicle on it and major accident repair even though the only damage was the dash and navigation that they used a crow bar to disable. So my advice is to hope they never find it because you probably don’t want it back. As a side note I put cutoff switches in the TRX and Jeep SRT and it has saved me from them both being stolen out of my driveway twice. Gotta love Chicago !!!

Boy, the pro’s must really be something to be living in that environment. 😱

The same thing happened to me last year from Love field in Dallas. I was in Phoenix and got notified by the app that my truck was being driven after my set curfew. I was able to track it for an hour then the piece of shit thieves pried the satellite “shark fin” off the roof and cut the wires. I called the Dallas police, gave them the info and last location. They caught the guy within 24 hours and he had 6 warrants out for stealing hellcat cars/trucks from DFW airport also. They busted a window and reprogrammed the computer with their own key and switched rims/tires. Got my truck back within two days and it took the dealer a month to get it completely repaired (due to parts). It’s fine now but will never be the same to me after a punk ass thief sat in it.
The DFW police say this is definitely a nationwide thing at all airports regardless of the state.
Still looking for a foolproof alarm system now if anyone has recommendations.

at this point, even if you or a dealer had the absolute best connections at RAM, what is the likelihood they could get another 2023 ordered/built when the order banks have closed for 2023s and we don't know if there will be a 2024? Is there any chance the order banks will open again even for a small # of orders...

Yes, of course you can get a new order if you know someone. Proof? Orders closed on 2/9, and the VINs issued at that time were in the 591-592 groups. So we shouldn't see any TRX VINs after those groups. Right?
Wrong. Go look at tripleB's daily charts. They've built 169 TRX's with higher VINs (593 through 632 groups). There's currently a total of 282 TRX VINs that have been issued since the order banks were closed.
Sure, we know that at least one of them is a cloned VIN from a screw-up on the assembly line. But 282 of them? Nope. Ram is still issuing TRX VINs (and building them fairly quickly). I guess you just have to know the secret handshake or something.

Edit: To be fair, 69 of the later VINs are Havoc Editions. But it still doesn't come close to explaining how there are so many TRX VINs issued after 2/9.
