So I’ve bought HRE’s as my aftermarket wheel of choice for the last decade. My truvk friends are telling me not to get HRE’s for a truck.

2 questions.

1. why would hre’s not be good offroad wheels?

2. Who makes the best beadlock 20” wheel with a +19-20 offset?

These look pretty solid?

Method makes solid wheels. Off road fans who watch or race in KOH and Baja will tend toward brands that have a history in those events. So you will probably get recommendations for Method, Raceline, KMC, and Trail Ready to name a few.

My first choice - Trail Ready - I'm pretty sure they can set you up with the offset we'd be after for the TRX
Trail Ready HD20 Beadlocks

Innov8 has some nice looking wheels but I haven't run them and don't know if they make a 20 inch beadlock.

You need better friends. J/K. The TR series HRE are plenty strong, but honestly I don't think you need to spend that kind of money for a truck you are going to pound on off road. Methods are quality wheels, and you can get a set of 4 for the price of one HRE. Off the top of my head, the Con 6, the Standard, and the 312 all come in the correct offset in 20x9 I think.

Fuel makes several wheels that will fit, and several have beadlock look.

Innov8 makes strong forged wheels, but in 20x9 the highest offset they do is +12. That might work ok with a 37x12.50 if it's on the small side. As you mentioned in another post BFG's typically run a little small. I'm not 100% sure that will clear with a 37 though.

Right? I have smashed hre’s into the curbing on track running hotlaps and never an issue. They are pricey though. The R101 lightweights are my favorite wheel. Saved about 50 pounds of rotating mass on the 720s with wider/heavier tires which is a shitload on a supercar

That is a shitload of weight on a supercar. The R101 is a great looking wheel. I had their P101s on my RS. Timeless style.

The TR106 is actually pretty light for how strong it is. I know you aren't a fan as much, but Anrky has two styles now that would work on the TRX. Both six spoke, but one is a split spoke. I think they look good. These are renderings, but give you and idea. Color options are near limitless.

They would say that because they are haters who can't afford nice fully custom HRE wheels. HRE could make any offset any size for the perfect fittment, so another plus for HRE. Only thing is that if you want a beadlock wheel HRE is probably not the first choice as I don't think they make and OE beadlock, and would be hesitant to "tap" a fancy set of beadock wheels. Also, if you are doing 4wheelin' that requires beadlocks and sub 10psi tires, more than likely those rims are going to get chewed the fuck up; hence why you see beadlocks almost as large as the rim face to protect the wheel.

I will say after installing lots of drift car wheels, HRE's are quite difficult to mount up so wouldn't worry too much about just dropping psi down to 20 and not rolling bead or tire slipping on the rim.

Trail Ready or Innov8 all day make some sweet wheels.
