1st TRX 1/4 mile at Drag Strip

Really looking to see what they do performance wise. She’s a fat and happy truck. Looks like it’s hard to get all that mass moving.

Like to see what tires they use once speed gets above 120 mph

I’d personally be fine running the factory tires to 150/160.

if I wanted drag times I would just put r comps or semi slicks on beadlocks

Had truck up to triple digits and the tires seem to float some at that speed ....Considering the tires on TRX are t rated only good to 118 Unsure if other tire choices are available

The float you feel at speed has more to do with the fact the truck almost certainly creates lift and at high speeds it becomes apparent as lift/downforce is directly related to the amount of air the truck is pushing through.
The speed rating protocol is really conservative and requires sustainable speed before failure. So I would have zero concern doing a pull to 160 then letting off on 118 rated tires

I believe factory TRX tires are the highest speed rated 35" that are available.

I know someone will get this into the 11’s very soon. I wouldn’t surprised to see them in the high 10’s once all the refinements are made.

which is utterly fucking ridiculous

Agreed taking tires up to a 150 speed or so and back down shouldn't be a problem..

You may wreck because the truck is generating so much lift the tires are skimming pavement and ability to steer becomes a problem but the tires would be fine

We don't have to worry about that! We'll wreck due to a loose component from the factory WAY before we hit those speeds!

With how I drive it’s gonna be my truck that suffers a catastrophic failure.

I was able to get my Ex Raptor to 131 with stock tires without an issue. So as mentioned up to speed and back down should be ok.

0-60, 1/4 mile. It seems Ram missed the mark on their advertised numbers, which is odd as they hit them fairly good on the cars. Wonder why they went conservative with the numbers? Granted some numbers are being helped by cooler weather and we should wait and see what happens in the summer heat.

This is a 'underpromise/overdeliver' model that was, if not started, popularized by Porsche.

At some point during the growth of the internet they figured out that they got a lot more and long lasting positive pr out of understating the performance numbers of their cars. Rather than trying to win the reveal they keep winning the more people get their hands on their cars. It's been a brilliant marketing move for them ... pretty smart of Ram and other manufacturers to copy it rather than err one the side of keep letting people down because the cars aren't performing as declared.

I’ve seen something similar to that in performance fishing boats, when you ask Top Speed: (they say) let me know how you do,and we’ll see if we can make it faster.

And I concur completely. Those PR guys are sneaky, let alone how it sits with the competition.
