Forgive the title, I normally wouldn't post an update like this if there were 0 trucks but felt this was worth posting just to keep everyone updated and figured the daily update was the best way of doing so.

I am receiving the following page titled (UNDEGOING MAINTENCE) on about every third VIN I look at for the past couple hours. We have seen reports that IT is moving systems over to Stellantis and they may have scheduled this change for the weekend when the plant isn't in full operation to reduce the impact.

Let's hope the URLs don't change and most importantly the body response payload, especially with all the work you have put into this!

Assuming JSON/XML so you will likely be fine, but you never know when backend systems change, that means API's and payloads are at risk as well depending on how much importance they put on NOT disrupting the customer experience for the consumers hitting the links we're all using.

I did a DNS lookup for the URLs in my CURL/GET commands and looks like I'm getting the same IP's as before. Assuming they are using some form of GTM on F5 or equivalent load balancer so routing seems to work.

Going to bet istio service mesh with backwards compatible 12 factor compliant micro services and AWS route53 is out of their IT ball league!

Yeah whatever he just said.....

Yea, let's hope. I wouldn't expect the final payload to change since its a PDF generated on the fly. Even if the URL changes or the webservice that feeds it, I would hope the PDF doc remains the same. Either way, I have it coded fairly open ended at this point because after the first couple daily posts, users started asking me to track many other non TRX FCA vehicles as well so I have already made it easy to feed templates to the different types of vehicles and their options. We shall see!🤞

took the words right out of mouth

They moved employees over to the Stellantis system starting Saturday last week which was messing with my ability to get build dates all week. The probably working on the public side over the next few weekends to remove FCA brand from public servers

Thank you for the work but damn..... you are speaking in Martian right now. I’m like 🧐 Can some google what they are saying. Lol lol

Damn. I mean. Every merger I’ve been in our IT systems take forever to get integrated/migrated. Wish the TRXs were coming out with this breakneck efficiency.

Bingo...
Imagine how that affects ordering parts... for a new product...

Please allow me to reply with plain language: Let's hope our orders don't get messed up with changes...

Sorry for the confusing language.

I’m one of the chief technology architects for one of the largest technology companies that most of you probably can’t live without 😉

@tripleB has done an amazing job and I would consider hiring him any day.

@Kerry0805 summarized it very well!

Man, if I could convince my family to move away from the only home they have ever known, I would move to CO in a heartbeat. Originally from Utah/Idaho and miss the mountains EVERYDAY. Way better place to have toys like the TRX than Arkansas is for sure!
