X4s vs mx4?

I’ve always used Bak mx4 cover but leaning towards the x4s. Anyone used both? Which do you prefer

I had MX4 on my previous ram and like it a lot. Have the x4s on my trx and love it. Better looking, sleeker design and with the roll up option it’s easier since the truck is higher than a stock 1500

I had the MX4 on my 2016 and have the normal X4 on my 2019. I would never go back to the MX4. Panels were too heavy to fold from the side. The X4 I can easily roll up one handed from either side, I get full access, and it doesn’t block the rear window. The X4S looks even better than my X4.

Had the MX4 on my previous Ram and went with the X4S on this one. I love the X4S in that it’s easier to open and doesn’t rest against the cab (you can actually see out the back) when it’s fully open.

We need a dozen bed cover threads going right.

I'm trying to decide between these 2. I'm leaning tears the folding model , but it's been a year and a half now maybe some of you have a better idea of how the X4S is working out.

ive used both and i also prefer the X4s. the MX4 isnt bad by any means. i didnt like that i could not see out the back with the MX4 but have read that the digital rear view has a clear view with it folded up so that would be less of a deterrent for me now. i did however order another X4s. i do think the MX4 is better if you have long periods of freezing weather. the rolling version can freeze and be difficult to use

So my 2019 Limited had the MX4 and it was decent at keeping the water out. It leaked the most where the pieces met together. Is the X4S better at sealing? I know we cannot get 100% water resistance but looking for the best at that.

No issues w water intrusion on my X4S

I saw an older video where a guy was griping about how easy the Mx4 scratches , is that still true with the newer ones as well ? maybe they changed the finish.

I have the X4S and love it. No issues with water intrusion, not to say if you would run it through a car wash, you may experience a few drops here and there.
