I got four extra tpms as part of what I assume is the trailer package.

Are these the same self learning ones as the ones in my wheels or a different frequency for the ECU to differentiate for trailer tires?

Basically, can I use them on a set of aftermarket wheels instead of having to buy a new set?

Pics? Where were they found? Picking up mine Monday and want to make sure i get mine. Do you have to dismount the tire to install them or are they installed on the valve?

Nope, those are to put in the tires on the truck. They were going to, but they figured we'd probably do a better job. They're not wrong...👀

I would assume they would be different or special but have no knowledge on the subject. Perhaps, if there is a part number on them or the paperwork, a google cross reference might break the case.

That’s a great question, because I am planning on different wheels and might be able to use those also.

Those are for the trailer package. GMC also does that

I also got those, they were in the glove box...

Ok so if these a trailer specific, does anyone have the PN for our stock sensors?

So if the intent was to use them as trailer sensors, where is the pickup for said sensors? Surely they don't expect the truck to be able to read them from back on the trailer which depending on the length could be quite a distance away??

Well, I was wrong. Page #237 and #332 of the Owners Manual has all of the info. Can even set the pressure thresholds. Still have a hard time understanding how the signal reaches the truck from back on the trailer.

Trailer Tire Pressure Sensor Pairing
In order use this feature, the provided tire pressure sensors must be installed in the desired trailer tires and the sensors must be paired to the truck.

Used that VIN to look up the part - they are an allocated part right now, dealer can only order 3 per 7 days. Not sure why, there are a metric shitload of these in stock right now (almost 3000 at Centerline, the PDC they come from).

MSRP is $48.35 each, but some quick searches - you can be in the $30-35 range.

The part number shows up for all engines for 2021.

It sounds like a really neat feature. If you have three different trailers with four wheels each you could set them all up one time and when you switch trailers your all set with tire monitoring.

I have a TPMS for my trailer and it’s all wireless. The module is separate and in my 2500. It works great showing pressure and temperature.
It’d be cool if it’s built into the TRX for additional sensors. One less gadget in the truck.
