Hello, I was under the truck yesterday installing power running boards. Just hit 500 miles and there was a small drop of oil on the bellhousing just after the engine. it was not dripping but it was almost to that point, enough for me to wipe it off with my finger. I hadn't notice any leak in the driveway or garage. afraid it may be a rear main seal issue. anyone come across this?

Clean it off really well with some degreaser and see if it reappears. If so, you obviously have a leak.

Have been looking at it everyday now and it may have just been some assembly oil, cleaned it with some brake cleaner and looks like no more signs of leakage. there was another droplet on the steering motor and definitely some grease around the one of the cv boots, not too excessive but probably from assembly, I just wiped any areas with some blue shop towels so I have a clean slate to inspect from now on.

I'm at 4200 miles now and looks like its an actual leak. Anyone have the same issue? thinking its the rear main seal

Looks like rear main is leaking.

This a pic of the oil leak around the oil cooler lines Ok so I dropped off the truck at the dealer yesterday around 320pm. Had to call a couple of times and got no call back to my messages. Finally got a hold of the service advisor around 4pm today. He said the tech assessment was that the oil cooler adapter on the block needs replacement going to take 3 to 4 days for a new part to arrive. Asked about the oil leak on the bellhousing and he said that they think thats from the oil cooler too. I told him that was unacceptable and that I wanted it to be properly diagnosed for a possible rear main seal leak. He said he would ask the tech again, but didn't sound like promising. Couldn't even get a loaner, was told he would let me know if one becomes available. Everything I dreaded about this situation has come true. Contacted @RamCares to get a case open(case number 80797803) and try to get this matter taken more seriously. I understand things break and that's what the warranty is for but I think my concerns should be properly addressed. It's funny how the oil can shoot from the front of the engine and skip everything in between to then appear on the transmission bellhousing.

Alright so I think Ramcares came through, my advisor said he got authorization to take a look at the rear main seal and they will be replacing it. the oil cooler adpater that goes to the engine block is also being replaced but that part will probably arrive by Tuesday. Hopefully I'm back in my truck by Wednesday next week.

Damn so my dealer said they sent a rep out and declined to do the rear main seal after all, they only changed the oil cooler adapter and added dye to check the rear main but said it's not leaking from there so they won't change it or remove the trans to even inspect. So hopefully I don't find myself back there anytime soon.

Keep us in the loop if anything changes. Thanks for the updates.

Damn couldn't even get a complete oil change out of this just topped it off and sent me packing this is how @RamCares

That’s some quality repair work. Maybe they’ll approve the rear main seal work now? Should be able to trace the leak now that dye is in the sump.

Shoot some from the top of the engine near the valve covers

3600 miles Same issue with leaking oil cooler adapter. Just had oil changed yesterday with the 3500 mile inspection and tech didn’t note anything.

@TRXDAVE had his replaced and he’s still leaking. Thought his might be at the rear main as well.

Dealer gave away my loaner as soon as I picked it up on Wednesday within an hour. @RamCares said they would "possibily" cover a 40 dollar a day rental from enterprise" put the cheapest rental is around 90 a day. Dealer is not trying to do anything extra for me, only what @RamCares approves. So I told them I'm not coming out of pocket for a rental and I can't be without a vehicle for another two weeks while they attempt to fix the leaks again. But no one has followed up with me since thursday about getting a loaner or getting my rental approved. So I still have a leaking truck, I'm thinking about a lemon law buyback and try another vehocle, its a shame the truck is great but no one really cares if you spend 20k or 90k, you get the same treatment form Stellantis.
